Garwood, New Jersey (pop. 4225; area .75 square miles) is a small suburban borough located in Union County about 25 miles sw of NYC. Garwood's Chamber of Commerce is an active one, listing over 50 local businesses and associated professional people.
Located in one of the most populous areas in the United States, Garwood residents have easy commuting access to New York City, Trenton and Philadelphia.
The area is rich in history - from the Algonquin Indians through the original colonists (first Dutch in 1620, then English in the 18th century) and the Revolutionary war, many major historical sites are just minutes from Garwood. Incorporated on February 25, 1903, from parts of Westfield and Cranford, Garwood was the Industrial Center of Union County.
