Somerset County  had the highest rate of population growth  in New Jersey from 1990 to 2000 with a 23.8 percent increase.  This was nothing new for Somerset County. In the 1980's, Somerset County ranked 3rd in the state, showing  substantial gains from both international and domestic migration.  Obviously, Somerset County is a desirable place to live, work and play.
